Steve was appointed Special Insurance Counsel in a Chapter 11 Bankruptcy of a major asbestos defendant. His efforts accounted for virtually all of the funds recovered in the proceedings, to date. It is anticipated that this recovery will result in payment of approximately 15% of the unsecured claims, as well as payment to the secured creditors. His fees in this effort were approximately only 1% of the amount recovered. He also assisted in the successful efforts to defeat an insurer from objecting to the insurance settlement that he negotiated, which was argued in the 7th Circuit Court of Appeals.
